Fake Jack Capuano Twitter makes fans laugh

Fake twitter accounts are nothing new to the New York Islanders.  Fans have set up accounts in the names of several players including Zenon Konopka and Kyle Okposo. Now you can add Isles interm head coach to that list of fake accounts.
@Capuanos_Hair was set up after one lifelong Islanders fan saw the season turn from bad to Bizarre. “I created it the day we all learned how Evgeni Nabokov hung up on Garth Snow,” Not Jack Capuano, the name which is in his byline, said in an email response. “That was the moment the season officially went from bad to bizarre. Suddenly everything was funny, even the coach’s hair.”
Since then “Not Jack Capuano” has documented Islander excursions ranging from a nightmarish trip up the New Jersey Turnpike to more recently documenting a day in Walt Disney world. All tweets using the scope that the Islanders players are a group of kids and Capuano is a father like figure.

“I started imaging the players as little kids and Jack Capuano as a kind of coach/foster parent. I tweeted: ‘Cleaned out my car this morning in case I have to pick up Nabby. Mostly Matt Martin's crayons and juice boxes. Glad it's a rental.”

So where does @Capuanos_Hair come up with all of his crazy scenarios?
“A lot come from just imaging the players as little kids, and running with that,” the fake Capuano tweeter responded with. “Some come out of team news. And a few tweets get prompted by readers. One day @

And it’s not only a one person affair; his wife even helps out with the account.

“My wife started getting into the spirit of the thing and came up with a couple of those tweets and she was all over the Disney adventure, Not Jack Capuano said in the email. “ She hates hockey. But she loves @Capuanos_Hair.”
With the Islanders season winding down and the real Jack Capuano’s future as head coach still uncertain @Capuanos_Hair has no intention of slowing down with the tweets and hopes that the interim head coach returns for next season.
“I have no plans to stop, although the summer could be a challenge for material. I hope as a fan and as @Capuanos_Hair that he’ll be back behind the bench next year. He’s earned it.
Make sure to follow him: @Capuanos_Hair

Fake Jack Capuano on Twitter.

The New York Islanders have several players on twitter, but their coaching staff has not made it's way onto the social media site. So one fan took it upon themselvs to create an account for the Isles interim head coach.

Today @Capuanos_Hair tweeted about the Islanders excursion to Walt Disney World  and all the hilarity that     happened at "the happiest place on earth."  From Having the "Small World" song stuck in his head to Islanders rookie defensemen, Travis Hamonic, dropping his Mickey Mouse shaped ice cream on the ground after waiting in line. @Capuanos_Hair tweeted about everything.

Will have more about this hilarious twitter account, including an interview with the individual who runs it, on Islanders Hockey Blog in the coming days.

Today Matt Cooke added to his growing highlight reel of cheap hits to opposing players. This time it was Ryan McDonagh on the receiving end of the hit.

Cooke came in with an elbow on McDonagh early in the third period and was given a five minute major and a game misconduct.

Versus Hockey Coverage Has Some Stiff Analysis

Everybody (man or woman) has burst out one time or another in laughter when they see something that resembles Male or female reproductive parts. It's just human nature and the 12 year old that lives inside us all.

Well Last night as the Versus crew broke down a play that took place in the Rangers/Sabres game, they accidentally drew a graphic that would make even the most mature hockey fans burst out laughing. And send the least mature ones into a major LOL moment.

I know the Versus commentators can be stiff sometimes but this is just ridiculous.

If just the fact they drew that wasn't immature enough for you, then that fact that it slow extended to full form must have truly sent someone into a full laughing seizure.

This is one mistake they will not likely make again.

Randy Moller may be the Craziest Play by Play Man in Hockey

Our friends over at WCWP Sports have discovered a man many hockey fans are already familiar with, Randy Moller, the play by play man for the Florida Panthers. If you haven't heard some of of Moller's work then let me try and sum it up, simply unique.

Moller is unique because with ever goal call he incorporates a pop culture reference into the call that has nothing to do with the game. He has used quotes from movies such as Castaway, Wedding Crashers, Forest Gump, and Jaws just to name a few. It's an interesting style to use but somehow he has managed to master. Check it out for yourself.

One thing to note as well, Moller is not a pop culture encyclopedia, as it may seem, he has some help. In conjunction with the Dan Le Batard show, which is on the same radio station as Panther games, fans and the show come up with ideas and phrases for Randy Moller to say and he then picks out the ones he likes best and uses them in games.

It's one way to draw in fans to a game broadcast, but a method that would not work in 27 of the 30 NHL Markets. Since Florida is a non traditional hockey market and flies under the radar from most of the hockey world, Moller's "unique" goal calls will continue to entertain south beach hockey fans and will go are uncriticized from the rest of the hockey world.
